Text wrap around a table [Beitrag #9727]

I don't know why but I can not get text wrapped around a table. I have no problems with jpegs, I can wrap the text any way I want but with tables - nothing. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong?

Tables aren't meant to be have text besides, in first place.

If you really want to do that, you may put the table into a text object, wich may have text wrap - solved. Smile

If I draw a text frame around a table it looks just fine until I go to Object Properties and apply text wrap left or right. As soon as I do that the line spacing of the table goes nuts and a 13 line table becomes over a page long. If I apply no wrap it goes back to its single spaced normal version.

That's because you drew the text frame around the table.

Draw the text frame somewhere else, cut the table from the text and paste it into the text frame -- then it should work.

I've tried it both ways with the same results. What I get is each cell becomes as many lines tall as the table has columns. So if the table has 5 columns cell A1 will have the text on the first line, A2 will have the text on what would be the second line, A3 on the third and so on. There is only one carriage return per cell but the text in each row will stair step down within the cell.

It should be:

|text|text|text|

It becomes:
|text|----|----|
|----|text|----|
|----|----|text|

I don't know why.

Best to send the document to the support (info at papyrus.de, f.e.) - this way, we are all guessing around without having a real chance to find out what goes wrong.
